Números cardinales y ordinales

Números cardinales:

Los números cardinales se usan para contar cosas. Corresponden al nombre del número exacto que queremos expresar, se refieren a la cantidad:

Ejemplos:

There are three (3) apples on the table.
I worked twenty (20) hours this week.
She has one (1) car.
He gave me fifty (50) dollars for my work.

1 = One
2 = Two
3 = Three
4 = Four
5 = Five
6 = Six
7 = Seven
8 = Eight
9 = Nine
10 = Ten
11 = Eleven
12 = Twelve
13 = Thirteen
14 = Fourteen
15 = Fifteen
16 = Sixteen
17 = Seventeen

18 = Eighteen
19 = Nineteen
20 = Twenty
21 = Twenty one

Números ordinales

Los números ordinales se usan para darle orden a situaciones, objetos o personas, generalmente cuando se están haciendo listados de cosas o cuando se están narrando una serie de eventos. Nos dan la idea de qué va de primero, de segundo, etc.

Ejemplos:

First (1st): Write your name and address. Second (2nd): Write about your work experience. Third (3rd):Sign the form.
María, first (1st). Gerardo, second(2nd). David, third (3rd).
My baby’s first (1st) word was "car".
My father’s second (2nd) wife is very pretty.
